The Northeast Asian History Foundation is accepting grant applications for a research project on the following topic: “Reexamining the Process of Japan’s Annexation of Korea.” Please refer to the attachment for further details on the application process.

1. Grant Overview (1) Research period: The day the grant agreement is concluded to 27 November 2009. (2) Research may include but are not limited to the following: 1. Grant size ◦Joint research: 20 million won per project ◦Individual research: 7 million – 13 million won per project *Please include overseas onsite research and survey expenses in the proposed grant amount. *It is possible to conduct research on both countries if the project is undertaken as a joint effort. *The grant amount can be adjusted within the budget allocated for the project 2. Application period: 15 July 2009 (Wed.) – 30 July 2009 (Thur.) 3. Notification of the results of the application review: 7 August 2009 (Fri.) – 13 August 2009 (Thur.) 4. Reexamining the dynamics of international relations around the time of Japan’s annexation of Korea *The researcher(s) is free to choose the specific title of the research project, but the research itself should include one or more of the topics below. If the research is limited to a single country, please apply for individual research. - Finding diplomatic documents that can serve to verify France and/or the Netherlands’ position(s) on Japan’s annexation of Korea. The focus should be on finding significant primary source materials that shed light on France or the Netherland’s opposition to the annexation.
