History tour commemorating the 90thanniversary of the Korean Provisional Government

In commemoration of the 90thanniversary of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, the Northeast Asian History Foundation and the Association of Commemorative Services for Jang Joon-ha hold a history field trip to historic sites in China representing Korea’s independence movement against Japanese colonial rule.

This field trip is designed to help young Koreans develop the right understanding of history and find ways to promote future-oriented cooperation between Korean and Chinese youths.

A total of 25 participants, including 18 college students selected from across the country based on their application essays, will be visiting Hongkou Park and other historic sites of Korea’s independence movement in China for eleven days (February 11-21, 2009).

Seoul – Shanghai – Xuzhou – Fuyang – Linquan – Nanyang – Laohekou – Xingshan – Yichang – Chongqing – Xian – She-hsien – Zuoquan – Beijing – Seoul

On top of this, two lecture sessions will be held under the respective themes of ““Experience of Independence Movement and Its Historical Lessons”” and ““Historical Reconciliation of Northeast Asia and Creation of Peaceful Community”” a forum of dialogue and exchange between young Koreans and Chinese will also be held in association with the All-China Youth Federation of China.

This field trip will serve as an opportunity to provide forward-looking education on peace and regional history and thereby lay a solid foundation for mutual prosperity of Northeast Asian countries.
