Former Japanese Prime Minister Murayama Tomiichi (村山富市) and Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo Wada Haruki (和田春樹) were invited to an event organized by the Northeast Asian History Foundation and held on August 22, 2014 to look back on Korea-Japan relations and speak about the process that led to the Murayama Statement and its significance. The event was also participated by over twenty experts, including representatives of civil-society organizations, who shared their thoughts on where Korea and Japan should be headed, which are summarized in this book.
